Shalom Online

Born out of the need to gather during the Covid 19 lock down Shalom Online proved popular and is now a permanent feature of the life of The Shalom Network.
By now many of us are familiar, but not necessarily at ease with conferencing technologies on our PCs, laptops and phones. These things can be so much more difficult for the people we support.
Shalom Online provides multiple opportunities to deliver on our purposes. We are able to help people to get online and then gently assist in coming to terms with both the technical and cultural challenges of the ‘everything online’ world. Fortunately, we are able, in some cases to provide tablets or computers. We would like to do more with hardware, connectivity and environment.

Having managed to help people to join we can get on with welcoming, worshiping, being interactive, catching up, exploring more of the ministry of Jesus through videos, discussion and prayer. Realising the value in Christian faith and devotion.
Currently Shalom Online is on the 2nd, 3rd, 4th & 5th Thursday evenings of the month. We meet from 7.30 pm to approximately 8.30 pm. This can vary (last longer), and all who attend are free to come and go as they feel led.
Everyone is invited to come along and join in the meetings. We have developed ways for those people with no speech to be able to meaningfully participate in the gatherings and we aim to make it as accessible as possible. We will provide additional support and tuition to enable people to connect via their smartphone, tablet or laptop.
Like many organisations we see great potential for online activities, to grow digital skills and confidence, not only by attending, but also being part of the production team. We are also growing our YouTube channel to provide online recordings, tutorials and opportunities to provide and share creative content.
Here is something by way of a testimony that the person typed out as they have no verbal speech. We prefer to leave their spelling to be true to their contribution.

Shalom Online: ‘Pleased to be a part of the shalom online group because it is always good to connect with the group. I enjoy the time spent sharing under the azoom outr faith.’

Another from a group attendee who has become a member of the presentation team,

"It has meant a lot to me to be involved in hosting the call, because I felt a huge sense of responsibility. And I very much enjoy sharing the videos, songs etc and I will carry on enjoying sharing the videos and the songs and the prayer grid.”
If you would like more details about how to join us and be involved, then please email and we will get back to you with more details.

Shalom in Person

With Purpose

Everyone is invited to come along and join in the meetings. We have developed ways for those people with no speech to be able to meaningfully participate in the gatherings and we aim to make it as accessible as possible. We will provide additional support and tuition to enable people to connect via their smartphone, tablet or laptop.

In Praise

Like many organisations we see great potential for online activities, to grow digital skills and confidence, not only by attending, but also being part of the production team. We are also growing our YouTube channel to provide online recordings, tutorials and opportunities to provide and share creative content.
Here are typical examples of the responses we receive from people who join our group gatherings.

"I like learning about Jesus and I like colouring and making things"

" It’s a good, safe place to meet and bring us closer to Jesus. It helps us to grow in God’s love and understanding while having fun, fellowship and food together. I love that we are all equal in Gods sight, and we seek God together when we meet in the groups.
